Claire Alexander, MS

Claire Alexander, who is the therapist for North Elementary, graduated with a masters degree in Mental Health Counseling from Minnesota State University, Mankato. Claire works with children, adolescents, and adults experiencing issues of depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, cognitive delays, and relational difficulties. Her areas of interest include but are not limited to family therapy, relational issues, and grief counseling. Claire is trained in using the DC 0-5 manual for diagnosing children birth to five years of age. Claire emphasizes on building the therapeutic relationship to foster growth in individuals she works with. Claire utilizes an integrative therapy approach drawing from cognitive-behavioral therapy, person centered therapy, family systems therapy, and strength based approaches. Claire is currently receiving professional supervision as she works toward gaining licensure as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor.
