Congrats to Saint Peter High School senior Emmy Remmert for being named to the Minnesota Volleyball Coaches Association’s (MNVBCA) Class AAA All-State Team. Remmert received her award Tuesday evening at the MNVBCA State Tournament Banquet at Roy Wilkins Auditorium in St. Paul.
Remmert, who was a three-time All Big South Conference team member for the Saints, ranks among SPHS’s all-time best as she helped lead the team to a 57-20 overall record during her three years as a starter. She finished with 920 career kills, which ranks fourth all-time in program history, and recorded 826 digs, which is fifth-best all time. She also registered 406 career service points.
"Receiving this news was so exciting," Saints' head coach Carmen Hanson said. "Being elected to the All State Team in volleyball is difficult to get unless your team gets ranked within the Top 10 teams. Emmy was a huge part as to why we did get votes as one of the top 10 teams in Class AAA. Emmy is the first St. Peter volleyball player to ever receive this award!
“Being a player who plays all around is a challenge, but Emmy excelled in all areas. I knew when I brought her up as a freshman she had that unique talent that all coaches hope to be able to coach and shape. Emmy will be one of those players who underclassmen will desire to be like; she is one of a kind.”
