This week (March 2-8) is National School Social Work Week and Saint Peter Public Schools would like to thank our amazing group of social workers here! Our social workers include Kelly Jensen (Saint Peter High School), Kylie Kuhlman and Karie Lauwagie (Saint Peter Middle School), Mandy Kennedy (North Elementary, South Elementary & Early Childhood Preschool), and Dave Ribar (South Elementary & North Elementary).
School social workers provide a vital link between the school, home and community. Most school social workers are involved in providing services to all students. Most provide direct services to students and their families including casework, group work and classroom presentations as well as providing crisis intervention and consultation and making referrals to community agencies.
School social workers are part of the assessment process for special education students as well as often providing direct and indirect services to those students. School social workers consult with teachers and administrators and frequently participate on teams within the schools and community.
Thanks for all your hard work SPPS school social workers!

Special thanks to our school social workers during National School Social Work Week!
