A reminder that North Elementary students will get their chance to showcase their skills and talents today (Thursday) as part of the school’s annual Arts & Academics Night festivities, which start at 5 p.m.

Students have the opportunity to participate in one of several activities/events at Arts & Academics Night. Those activities/events include Visual Arts, Performing Arts, Science Fair, Interest Fair, Spelling Bee, Art/STEM Collaboration Cities (4th grade), and the North Book Fair.

“This is a great opportunity for our students to express their interest and talents with the community," Mrs. Nyhammer, North art teacher and one of the event organizers, said. "Some students choose to sign up for multiple events or enter more than one performing/visual art piece. All the work, with the exception of the 4th grade collaborative Art/STEM pieces have been done outside the school day. Come and see all of the hard work our students have put in for this fun family night!”

"This is my favorite night of the year because it allows the students to share their interests outside of school with the community," Ms. Zitur, North third grade teacher and another one of the event organizers, added. "I love seeing classmates come to support each other the night of. It carries over to the next day when they continue to congratulate their peers. These students take great pride in their work and that support means so much to them!"
