Good luck to the Saints’ boys tennis team as they take on Rock Ridge (Virginia) at 10 a.m. tomorrow (Tuesday) in the opening round of the Minnesota State Class A Team Tennis Tournament at the Reed-Sweatt Tennis Center in Minneapolis.
The Saints earned their spot at state with a 4-3 winner over Litchfield in the Section 2A championship, while Rock Ridge defeated Hibbing 6-1 in the Section 7A title match. The St. Peter/Rock Ridge loser drops into the consolation semifinals set for 4 p.m. on Tuesday. The winner advances to the championship semifinals at 8 a.m. on Wednesday, June 6.
Team members include (listed alphabetically by last name and grade): seniors Colton Abels, Marty Anderson, Sam Buffington, Anders Dixon, Will Elias, Ian Gerstbauer, Tyson Schmitz, Magnus Soderlund, and Ben Taylor; junior Luke Gilbertson; sophomores Quinn Dixon, Callum Harmes, Ezekiel Ribar and Eli Stoll; and freshman Jaxson Schaefer.
