North Elementary's fourth-grade Kindness Retreat is an annual event put on by the Youth Frontiers organization, with assistance from members of the Saint Peter High School National Honor Society. It is a high-energy day, held at Johnson Hall in the Nicollet County Fairgrounds, to give students tools to develop empathy, promote kindness, and prevent bullying.
Youth Frontiers’ Kindness Retreat empowers kids to be “everyday heroes” by using kindness to include others, to be respectful, and to make their school a better place.
The entire Kindness Retreat for North fourth graders was made possible by a $3,500 grant from the Mankato Clinic Foundation. Thanks to the Mankato Clinic Foundation for their generous contribution to such a worthwhile event for our students!
This year Jean Soule and Sesay from Youth Frontiers’ led the retreat, which was a big hit with the fourth graders and hopefully provided life-long lessons for them! Above and below are some photo highlights from this year’s Kindness Retreat!
