The Saint Peter Area Robotics team (Nordic Storm) was part of the Minnesota State High School League's state championship alliance at this past Saturday's State Robotics Tournament in Minneapolis. The Nordic Storm were part of an alliance along with Mound Westonka, Becker, and Minneapolis Southwest that won the state title.
That alliance defeated the teams from New London-Spicer, Greenbush-Middle River and Irondale 91-71 and 101-98.

This was the first title for Mound Westonka, Minneapolis Southwest and St. Peter. Becker was part of last year’s runner-up alliance with Greenbush-Middle River and Pequot Lakes. The Becker Coalition of Independent Students (CIS) also won previously in 2013 and 2022. The alliance of Dawson-Boyd, Avalon/Great River Schools and Sartell claimed third-place honors this year.
This year’s competition was CRESCENDOSM presented by Haas. In the event, competing alliances were invited to score notes, amplify their speaker, harmonize onstage and take the spotlight before time ran out. Alliances earned additional rewards for meeting specific scoring thresholds and for cooperating with their opponents.
