SPHS Saints Brew crew

Saint Peter High School’s Saints Brew crew from Liz Leibfried’s classroom started making their rounds this week of classes with their always-popular snack and beverage cart for SPHS staff. What treats they offer varies from week to week but often includes baked goods such as cookies, bars, and muffins, and also, a fruit or veggie snack option is often offered. The beverage choices usually include water, coffee, or hot chocolate.

Even better news is the popularity of the crew allowed them to add a second cart in the middle of last school year (2023-24) for making the rounds, creating an opportunity for more of Mrs. Leibfried’s students to participate in some capacity.

“We are happy to have two carts going like we did last year,” Leibfried said. “Some of the students have done it before and there is one student that is new to coffee cart. The students will be working on various skills such as employment, communication and social skills.”

This year’s Saints Brew crew consists of Kallie Brovold, Abby Schily, Peyton Attenberger, Judd Wartman, Abby Voeltz, and Logan Gessner. The plan is for each cart to trek around to an assigned half of the building twice a week – on Tuesdays and Thursdays during Saints Time and into the second block.

The students don’t charge anything for their treats and beverages but accept donations and use those funds to buy more snacks and beverages for the cart.
