LWV Youth Civic Engagement fellows Quinn Rassbach & Ryan Ranft

Two SPHS students, Ryan Ranft and Quinn Rassbach, who serve as the school’s Youth Civic Engagement Fellows for the League of Women Voters of the St. Peter Area (LWVSP), hosted an informational event for seniors and juniors about voter registration. The event was part of the National Voter Registration Day, which was officially on Tuesday, Sept. 17.

Rassbach and Ranft met with a large group of students, in the SPHS Performing Arts Center during Saints time on Wednesday, on the importance of voting and how to locate important voter information from the Minnesota Secretary of State’s site www.mnvotes.gov and the League of Women Voters’ website (www.vote411.org).

The LWVSP encourages informed and active participation in government, works to increase understanding of major public policy issues, and influences public policy through education and advocacy. LWVSP promotes political responsibility through informed and active participation in government and acts on selected governmental issues.
