Future graduates of Saint Peter High School are going to benefit from a new program the district will be implementing called Diploma Plus where graduates will leave here with more than a diploma. They will also leave with a marketable asset such as industry certification, work experience, extensive college credit, or on-the-job experience.

“This is a new concept we’re moving towards, starting with next year’s freshman class here at SPHS,” Principal Annette Engeldinger said. “The idea of our Diploma Plus program is for all of our graduates to have college or career experience during their high school years.”

“In addition to the usual academic workload our students will have each semester, this will also allow our students to do more work-based learning.”

SPHS’s Diploma Plus initiative supports future success in the workplace, college and/or in other professional pursuits. These assets represent marketable skills that are in high demand by employers and can be placed on a resume or portfolio.

More information on the Diploma Plus program will be shared with next year’s freshman class later this year.
