“The Triple A Award is a great award through the MSHSL that focuses on well-rounded students that achieve success in the classroom, in the arts and in athletics,” SPHS Activities Director Shea Roehrkasse said. “Both Emmy and Quinn are not only state level athletes but also are involved in different fine arts activities and excel in the classroom and most importantly great role models. Both are incredibly deserving of the award and great representatives of SPHS!”
The following are brief profiles of this year’s SPHS Triple A Award winners:
EMMY REMMERT
Remmert maintains a well-balanced schedule during her time at SPHS and has a 4.293 weighted grade point average (GPA), which includes several AP and College in School courses. She is a member of the SPHS chapter of the National Honor Society and a regular part of the A Honor Roll throughout her high school years.
“I am extremely honored to have been chosen for the Triple A Award, especially in such a successful and competitive senior class,” Remmert said. “Being involved in these activities has made my high school experience so enjoyable and rewarding!”
Remmert is very active here in the fine arts, having been a member of the SPHS Concert Choir since her ninth grade year as well as being part of the Women’s Choir and Chamber Singers. She also was part of the past three fall musicals for the SPHS theater program.
A three-sport standout at SPHS, Remmert is an All-State performer and three-time All-Big South Conference selection as part of the Saints volleyball program. She is also a three-year starter on the Saints’ girls basketball team, including being a part of last year’s Minnesota State Class AAA fifth-place team. Remmert was a member of the St. Peter varsity girls golf team last spring and previously lettered in softball the two years before that.
Emmy hasn’t finalized where she is going next fall, but her top choice is the University of Illinois (Champaign) and her planned major is international relations on a pre-law track.
QUINN DIXON
Quinn Dixon has maintained an active schedule during his time here at SPHS, all the while earning a 3.845. During his time, he has taken several AP (Advanced Placement) and College in the School courses.
“I am honored to be one of the Triple A award winners,” Dixon said. “This achievement represents my hard work and balance between activities, reminding me that anyone can be included and succeed in anything.”
From a fine arts perspective, Dixon has been a great student role model having been involved with the theater, choir, and band programs at some point during his time at SPHS. This past fall he had one of the lead roles in the SPHS musical production of “The Addams Family” in addition to being cast in the fall musical the three previous years. He has been active in the Saints’ choir program as a member of the Concert Choir, Duphi and other groups/ensembles. He was also in band his freshman year and has participated in the SPHS visual arts program.
A three-sport athlete for the Saints during his high school years, Dixon had the most success in tennis as he was a state individual qualifier last spring in doubles and was a key member of the Saints’ squad that placed sixth in the state team tournament in the spring of 2023. He’s also a multiple letterwinner for the Saints’ varsity boys basketball team and has earned two letters in football. He was also part of the Saints’ trap team his ninth grade year.
Quinn plans to attend the University of Minnesota (Twin Cities) after graduation and is leaning towards a pre-dental major.
