A large number of Saint Peter High School and Middle School students made the trek to the Spanish Language Immersion Camp, held the weekend of March 16-19 at Concordia Language Villages near Bemidji.
Even a short stay at Concordia is a lot like a trip to a Spanish-speaking country. Upon arrival, the students presented their passports and go through customs. They exchanged their spending money for native currency to purchase snacks or souvenirs. They were welcomed by friendly native speakers from around the world and played games, sang songs, and even ate meals while immersed in Spanish.
SPHS & SPMS Spanish instructors Dan Englehorn, Vero Castillo-Clark, and Cari Panitzke were among the chaperones for the local student campers.
Above is a group shot of the group from St. Peter that attended and below are some more photo highlights of the fun and educational experience!
