Saint Peter Middle School sixth-grade art students in Ms. Bealey’s class recently learned about the art of candle making from local artist Jessica Nielson. Nielsen, whose daughter Vera Ove is one of Bealey’s students and the proprietor of Virtue Body Craft & Candle Co., helped the art students turn pottery pinch pots they made in class into candles.
“The students were super excited and so was I,” Bealey said. “Jess sells her work at the St. Peter Co-op, local art fairs, and ships to locations around St. Peter. Most students plan to give their handmade pinch pot candles to family members for the holidays.”
