The St. Peter FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) Team 5962 (Nordic Storm) has had a remarkable 2024-25 season, showcasing their technical prowess and collaborative spirit across three tournaments.
The team (pictured above), composed of Ethan Borowy, Alex Bur, Micah Stoll, Drew Lyle, Santiago Anderson Garcia, Paul Szybnski, Teddy Francis, Agustin Anderson Garcia, Ryker Anton, Hugo Bosch, Wes Chambers, Massio Davis, and Teddy Francis, achieved notable successes and garnered individual recognitions.
The season commenced with the tournament at Prior Lake on November 23, 2024, where the Nordic Storm secured 2nd Place Inspire Award, a testament to their innovative approach and team dynamics. Their journey continued to the competition held in Marshall on January 11 where the team clinched the MN Gear Up Award and triumphed with the 1st Place Think Award, further solidifying their reputation for strategic design and problem-solving excellence.
Culminating their season was the MN FTC State Championship, hosted at Burnsville High School in Burnsville, MN, on February 14 and 15, 2025. Here, Nordic Storm competed against the top teams from across the state.
In addition to the team’s collective achievements, individual team members also received significant accolades. Micah Stoll was honored with the 2024-2025 MN FTC Stratasys Engineering Scholarship, recognizing his outstanding contributions to engineering and technical innovation. Furthermore, Alex Bur was named one of the four Dean’s List Finalists, earning an invitation to the World FTC Competition in Houston, TX, in April to represent the Minnesota FTC.
