The Saint Peter Public Schools will have four 4-year term school board seats up for election in November. The candidate filing period is August 1 - 15. Filing materials are available in the District Office.

The solar panels have been mounted! Thursday, July 27, 2023 they will be connecting them to our electrical systems. The High School will be closed in the morning for this work to be completed. The Middle School (and District Office) will close at 1:00 for the same reason.

Well, it has been days since my last weather report! We did get some ice last night. Kudos to the city and county for having the sand trucks out early! The majority of the streets are well treated. There are, however definitely slippery areas and untreated roads are very slick. Buses may run behind schedule on some country roads. Please drive carefully out there— as I said there are some very slippery areas!

During the School Board’s Annual Organizational meeting on Monday, Charlie Potts was elected as the School Board Chair. Kate Martens will serve as Clerk. Continuing in their roles are Tim Lokensgard, Treasurer and Drew Dixon, Vice-Chair. Thank you for your willingness to serve in these roles for the coming year!

Over 1000 students came together from 220 schools across the Midwest for the Dorian Music Festival at Luther College in Decorah, Iowa. SPHS brought 23 talented choir students to rehearse and perform in a combined concert Monday night. Congratulations SPHS Director Bri Bergstrom!
